Department heads and local personnel from Quezon, Pasay, and Mandaluyong (in National Capital Region) and Tacloban, Ormoc, and Guiuan (in Visayas / Region 8) attended the three-day event which featured learning and onsite sessions.

The event featured focus mentoring of select good practices of Quezon City (Socialized Housing and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Programs); Pasay City (i.e. Bayanihan Savings Banking Program, Family Based Actions for Children and their Environs in the Slums (FACES), Family-based Ecological Diversion and Recycling of Waste (FEDROW) and Rainwater Harvesting Project); and Mandaluyong City (Garden of Life Park) for the Visayas-based participants.

During the 1st exchange, Tacloban, Guiuan, and Ormoc participants expressed possible replication on the abovementioned local programs.

Moreover, the Visayas-based LGUs showcased their programs and shared their implementation of the rehabilitation and recovery programs since Typhoon Haiyan struck their area a year ago.
