Generating strategic investments for SHS in cities

As one of the key activities of the City LEADERS Coalition Project, the team organized a Mentoring Session in Manila last October 26 to 27 at BSA Towers, Mandaluyong City. More than 80 participants from the 21 Coalition Cities joined the two-day session.

 

For this mentoring session, the discussions focused on the experiences of four (4) Pioneer Coalition Cities on various ways to invest and generate resources for senior high school. Speakers include the Councilor Aly Medalla of Quezon City, Mr. Ronald Diola of Cebu City, Ms. Dulce Potenciano of Cagayan de Oro City, and Mr. Sonny Manigo of Tagum City. The second day featured a discussion on career guidance advocacy and immersion guidelines from Mr. Roel Lodronio of the Department of Education (DepEd)—K-to-12 Secretariat, the presentation of the Monitoring Framework for the New Coalition Cities from the Project Technical Advisor Ms. Veronica Hitosis, and a Caucus on Expanding the Bottom Up Budgeting (BUB) Menu to include Senior High School Needs.
