On 4 April 2016, the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP) led by its National President and Mayor of Quezon City, Mayor Herbert Constantine M. Bautista, received the keys during the Turn Over Ceremonies of DILG - PNP Patrol Jeeps to 144 cities held at the Quezon Memorial Circle grounds in Quezon City.

Led by President Noynoy Aquino, the turnover of 144 units of 4 x 2 Mahindra Enforcer Patrol Jeeps to cities was made possible through the efforts and able leadership of DILG Secretary Mel Senen S. Sarmiento, DILG Undersecretary for Public Safety, Atty. Peter Corvera and PNP Chief Ricardo Marquez. The procurement of additional PNP patrol jeeps will enhance police visibility to localities and respond to situations in crime prone areas . These patrol units can also be used in relief and rescue operations, safety and security issues and any related actions.

With the procurement and distribution of these patrol units, it is envisioned that all city police stations / offices shall have at least  one (1) unit to be used during police operations. This will supplement the  vital needs of the cities in PNP mobility and visibility.

"I am grateful to DILG for providing the City of Himamaylan this kind of support as the patrol jeep will be a big help in time for the national and local elections. Our constituents will feel more safe and secure with the police visibility mechanisms we are having right now ".
- Mayor Agustin Ernesto G. Bascon

"I would like to thank DILG, PNP and LCP for releasing a unit of Mahindra Patrol Jeep to Isabela City. This will enable us to patrol the city more efficiently and reach the areas where security threat might occur. As a last - term Mayor, I am looking forward to more interior-support to the people of Isabela City".
- Mayor Cherrylyn Santos-Akbar

The distribution of Patrol Jeeps speaks well of the goal of DILG and PNP to increase its capability to run after the criminals and assist our people to emergency response operations.
