The League wishes to congratulate the DRRM Councils of the following highly-urbanized cities: Davao City (Rank 1); Olongapo City (Rank 2); and Quezon City (Rank 3), and independent/component cities: Santiago City (Rank 1); Bago City (Rank 2); and Koronadal City (Rank 3) for winning the 18th Gawad KALASAG National Awards.

 

The Gawad KALASAG National Awards is the country's recognition scheme that awards groups for their design and implementation of comprehensive Disaster Risk Reduction and Management programs, protecting high-risk communities and making them more resilient and capable in responding to disasters.

Based on the available Situational Reports from the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC), a total of 64 cities have been affected by Typhoon Quinta, Rolly, and Ulysses.
