Save the date! The Philippines, as the Chairman of the ASEAN this year, will be hosting the 3rd ASEAN Mayors Forum on July 26-27, 2017, through the United Cities and Local Governments in Asia-Pacific (UCLG ASPAC), the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP), and the City of Taguig. It will be held at Shangri-La Hotel at The Fort, Taguig City, in conjunction with the ASEAN 2017 Ministerial Meeting.

The 3rd ASEAN Mayors Forum aims to promote cross-border interactions between local governments, as well as to establish partnerships for the improvement of the quality of life and environmental sustainability within the region in accordance with the ASEAN Blueprint.

The two-day forum will showcase a series of plenary and breakout sessions that will cover multiple sets of themes, issues, and agenda of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), New Urban Agenda, Local Economic Development, Resiliency, Youth and Women Leadership, with emphasis on the people. The ASEAN recognizes the role of city governments in ensuring no one from their community is left behind in their development process.

We are highly encouraging Mayors, Governors, Councilors, Barangay Captains, and representatives from National Government Agencies (NGAs), Academe, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) from all over the country, as well as international partners, to take part in this once in a lifetime opportunity.
