MEMORANDUM

FOR : THE HONORABLE CITY MAYORS

FROM :

Herbert Constantine M. Bautista

Mayor, Quezon City

President

RE : NATIONAL CLIMATE CHANGE CONSCIOUSNESS WEEK 2013 (CCC Week)

DATE : 29 October 2013

The National Climate Change Consciousness Week 2013 is being organized by the Climate Change Commission, where LCP is a member of the Commission Advisory Board. This event will showcase climate change initiatives of the national and local governments. With the theme I Plan, I Act, this event will be held on November 25 - 27, 2013 at SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

On November 26, 2013, the CCC Week will highlight the Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction Summit for LGUs. This summit will convene various representatives from different LGUs across the country to share thier experiences and learn new trends on climate change issues. Other side events will include sessions for media, youth and business sectors.

I am encouraging our member-cities to participate in the aformentioned summit. This event is a good avenue for our cities to enhance their own capacities and strengthen their advocacy on this kind of environmental problem. I also encourage our cities to organize their own public information drive in their localities advocating climate change and disaster risk reduction management.

Your office may contact the Climate Change Commission at 02.735.30.69 or 02.735.31.44 for more information. Alternatively, you may also contact Mr. Alvin Asis, LCP Environment Unit Head at 02.470.6813 and 0917.997.1336 or email at alvidon.lcp@gmail.com.

Thank you very much.
