Invitation to Conduct Local Earth Hour 2020 Events

In support of the Earth Hour Celebration of the World Wide Fund for Nature's (WWF-Philippines) on 28 March 2020 to: 

 

     
  • organize their own local Earch Hour switch-off events on 28 March 2020 by turning off non-essential lights (e.g. signages and select streetlights) and lighting in key momuments and nearby public spaces from 08:30 to 09:30 p.m.;
  • mobilize members from local provate sector to take part in the event by switching off their signage lights and non-essential lights in their facilities;
  • observe sustainbale practices in the conduct of their event such as proper waste management, discouraging the use of plastics, and ensuring energy effieciency;
  • document the event by taking photos and uploading these on social media with the hashtags #EarthHour202, #ChangeTheEnding, and #Connect2Earth; and
  • pledge to "change the ending" by publicly promoting practives that offices and individuals can make to support the environmental and reverse the trend of environmental decline

 

I also encourage our cities to share their existing policies, executive orders, ordinances, and initiatives supporting Earth Hour to the WWF-Philippines
