Promoting Interlocal Cooperation in the Manila Bay Masterplan: Strengthening the Interface of Local Plans and the Masterplan

DATE: October 13, 2020

The League of Cities of the Philippines, in partnership with VNG International, is pleased to invite you, your City Planning and Development Officer, DRRM Officer, and members of the Sanggunian to a webinar entitled: Promoting Interlocal Cooperation in the Manila Bay Masterplan: Strengthening the Interface of Local Plans with the Masterplan. This will be held on 23 October 2020, Friday, at 2:00-3:30 PM via Zoom.

The online session will promote the strategic role of local government units (cities, municipalities, and provinces) in the implementation of the master plan through collaboration, specifically in areas of flood control and solid waste management. It identifies the popularization of Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) as a necessary first step to strengthen the interface between local plans and the masterplan. It will feature international good practices on interlocal cooperation and provide suggestions on clusters that may work around the Manila Bay region. We will be joined by technical experts on the matter from The Netherlands, NEDA, and the Local Consulting Firm.

As mentioned, the webinar will be conducted using the Zoom online platform and streamed via Facebook Live at http://www.facebook.com/PhCities. For your security and privacy, we encourage participants to register at https://bit.ly/3nDMKRE. We likewise encourage participants to join by 1:30 PM to give ample time for setup and soundcheck. Upon entering the online session, kindly use the following naming convention [e.g., CITY_POSITION_FULL NAME] for an active open forum.

Thank you for your support and cooperation.

Very truly yours,
