FOR : THE HONORABLE CITY MAYORS

FROM : Mayor Herbert M. Bautista

RE : Request to help disseminate information on the call for applications for the LCP – International City/ CountyManagement Association (ICMA) Professional Fellows Program

DATE: October 10, 2015

The LCP and International County/ City Management Association (ICMA), a Washington-based international association of local government professionals, are in partnership in fostering technical professional exchanges between the two local government associations.

One of their specificactivities is the LCP – ICMA Professional Fellowship Program, through the Young Southeast Asian Leaders’ Initiative (YSEALI), which is sponsored by the US State Department. LCP is assisting ICMA in screening young local leader applicants and in conducting pre- and post-departure learning activities.

As of today, the said Program has sent 11 fellows to the different US local governments. The fellows immersed into their host local government’s different programs and developed community action plans to be applied into their regular work in the Philippines.

In line with this, to ensure that our Program covers the widest coverage, we humbly seek your request to encourage your constituencies/ local employees to apply in the next round of Legislative and Governance and Environmental Sustainability fellowship for Spring 2016.

You may refer to the ICMA website, http://icma.org/en/icma/knowledge_network/documents/kn/Document/304396/Professional_Fellows_Program_FAQs_and_Application for the details on the application process. Deadline is December 01, 2015. If you have urgent queries, you may contact LCP Programs Officer Paulie Mora at telephone nos. 470-6813 or 470-6837.

Thank you for your continuing support to LCP.
