SUBJECT: Status of the 2019 Local Government Support Fund-Assistance to Cities or the Green, Green, Green Program

On 17 January 2020, the League wrote to the Department of Budget and Management to request for the status of the implementation of the 2019 Local Government Support Fund –Assistance to Cities (LGSF-AC). As an update and according to the DBM response letter that our office received on 5 February 2020, cities are in various stages of obtaining their 2019 allocation:

 

Group 1 or 25 cities received funding;

Group 2 or 11 cities are in the process of securing their funding;

Group 3 or 46 cities require further submission of additional documents;

Group 4 or 63 cities have not submitted documentary requirements.

 

Given that the set deadline for the utilization of funds is on 31 December 2020, as stated in item

3.9 of Local Budget Circular No. 120, DBM is requesting the assistance of the League. Cities from Group 3 and 4 are highly encouraged to submit their requirements to the Office of the Secretary – Technical Review Unit (OSEC-TRU) as soon as possible to access their 2019 funding allocation.
